Itinerary
Ella Tuk Tuk Sightseeing Tour
Pickup from your hotel in Ella town at your preferred morning time (typically 8:00-9:00 AM). Meet your friendly local tuk tuk driver who knows Ella intimately. Begin your scenic journey through winding hill roads surrounded by tea plantations and mountain vistas. First stop: Nine Arch Bridge, one of Sri Lanka's most photographed landmarks. This stunning colonial-era railway bridge is set among lush greenery and tea estates. Walk onto the bridge, take photos, and if timing is right, watch a train pass through creating a magical scene. Your driver knows the train schedule and can time the visit for best photo opportunities. Next, head to Ravana Waterfall, a beautiful cascade tumbling down from Ella's highlands. Take photos from viewing points or if you're adventurous, climb the steps beside the falls for different perspectives. The waterfall is named after the legendary King Ravana from the Ramayana epic. Continue to Little Adam's Peak, a popular viewpoint offering panoramic views over Ella Gap, tea valleys, and surrounding mountains. The walk to the summit is relatively easy (about 20-30 minutes) with well-maintained paths. Your driver waits at the base while you enjoy the hike and views. Alternatively, if you prefer not to hike, your driver can take you to a viewpoint for photos. Visit a local tea factory to learn about Ceylon tea production. See the withering, rolling, oxidation, and drying processes. Enjoy a complimentary tea tasting session sampling different grades of black tea. Throughout the journey, your driver shares local knowledge, stories about Ella, and stops for photo opportunities whenever you wish. The open-air tuk tuk provides fresh mountain air and unobstructed views of the stunning scenery. Return to your Ella hotel by early afternoon, having covered all major Ella attractions in comfort and authentic style.
